I started to read "How Buildings Learn" by Steward Brand this morning. I must admit, I am quiet excited. The parallels to software architecture are bluntly evident. The zen of today therefore is a citation by Winston Churchill presented in this book: We shape the buildings and then the buildings shape us. Remember Conway's Law, form (architecture) follows function (organization) ... but stop: function follows form too... All social processes are interdependet. Vilfredo Pareto said that. |
